تعقيباً على مقال «صوت وصورة» الخميس الماضى، أرسل الناقد السينمائى طارق الشناوى رسالة يقول فيها: «ينبغى فضح الذى سرق كلمات أغنية (تسلم الأيادى) من أغنية لمحمد الحلو واللحن من أغنية لشريفة فاضل
كان المقال يتضمن تحية إلى محمد الحلو لأنه رفض رفع دعوى قضائية بعد أن أصبحت الأغنية من رموز الوطنية المصرية، ووسيلة من وسائل الكفاح ضد العنف الذى يمارسه الإخوان ومن يوالونهم، والناقد الكبير على حق فى أنه ينبغى فضح السارق، لكن المقال لا ينفى حدوث السرقة ولا يدافع عنها

طلب فنان السينما الأمريكى العالمى الكبير وودى آلان عدم عرض فيلمه الجديد «الياسمين الأزرق» فى الهند قبل أيام من بدء العرض، وذلك لأن هناك مشاهد تدخن فيها بعض الشخصيات السجائر، والقانون الهندى يفرض كتابة التحذير من أخطار التدخين على مشاهد التدخين أثناء العرض
تم تنفيذ طلب الفنان ولن يعرض الفيلم فى الهند لأن عقده يسمح بذلك، كما كان عند ستانلى كيوبريك وبعض من كبار المخرجين فى هوليود والعالم، رغم الخسائر المالية لشركة التوزيع بالطبع. إنه «درس» حضارى يؤكد حق كل فنان فى أن يعرض عمله على جمهوره كما صنعه تماماً، وليس كما يريد غيره

أعلنت الأكاديمية الأمريكية للفنون والعلوم السينمائية التى تنظم مسابقة الأوسكار عن قائمة الدول التى تتنافس على جائزة أحسن فيلم أجنبى فى الدورة الـ٨٦ للمسابقة الأشهر فى العالم، والتى تعلن ترشيحاتها ١٦ يناير، وجوائزها ٢ مارس من العام المقبل
وصل عدد الأفلام إلى ٧٦ فيلماً من ٧٦ دولة، وهو رقم قياسى غير مسبوق، وتضمن لأول مرة أفلاماً من دول ناطقة بالإنجليزية رغم أن المقصود بـ«الأجنبى» الأفلام الناطقة بغير الإنجليزية، وذلك على سبيل المزيد من «المرونة» فى قواعد المسابقة، ولأن كل الأفلام تتنافس على كل الجوائز، والرأى الأخير لأعضاء الأكاديمية الذين يشاهدونها، ويصوتون فى كل المراحل لاختيار المرشحين والفائزين
لأول مرة تشترك السعودية بفيلم «وجده» إخراج هيفاء المنصور إلى جانب أربع دول عربية أخرى، هى مصر «الشتا اللى فات» إخراج إبراهيم البطوط، ولبنان «قصة ثوانى» إخراج لارا سابا، والمغرب «يا خيل الله» إخراج نبيل عيوش، وفلسطين «عمر» إخراج هانى أبوأسعد

– Commenting on the article “Voice and Image” last Friday, film critic Tariq Al-Shanawi sent a letter saying “whoever stole the lyrics of the song “Shake Hands” by Mohammad Al-Halou and  the melody of composer Sharifa Fadil must be exposed.”
– The article was composed of a greeting to Mohammad Al-Halou because he refused to file a lawsuit after his song became a symbol of Egyptian nationalism, and a means of struggle against the violence practiced by the Muslim Brotherhood and those loyal to them. The renowned critic is right to say that the thief must be exposed, but the article doesn’t deny that that theft occurred nor defend it.

– American international filmmaker Woody Allan has been asked that his new film “Jasmine Blue” not be shown in India days before its initial screening because there are scenes with some characters smoking cigarettes. Indian law requires that a warning of the dangers of smoking be displayed during scenes with smoking.
– The request was implemented by the filmmaker and the film won’t be showed in India because its contract allows it (as it did in a similar situation with Stanley Kubrick and some of the most prominent directors in Hollywood and the world), despite the financial losses to the distribution company of course.

– The American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which organizes the Academy Awards (The Oscars) announced the list of countries which will compete for the Best Foreign Film award at the 86th session of the most famous competition in the world, which will announce nominations on January 16th and the awards on March 2nd of next year.
– The number of films reached 76 from 76 countries, a record and unprecedented number. For the first time, the list includes films from English-speaking countries, despite being called “Foreign” because the films are in languages other than English. This is an example of the increase in the “flexibility” of the competition’s rules. Since all of the films are competing for all of the prizes, the final opinion of members of the Academy who watch the movies, vote at ever stage to chose the competitors and winners.
– For the first time, Saudi Arabia is competing with the film “Wajda,” a production of Haifa Al-Mansour, as well as four other Arab countries: Egypt with “Last Winter” from director Ibrahim Al-Batout, Lebanon with “Blind Intersection” from director Lara Saba, Morocco with “Horses of God from director Nabil Ayoush, and Palestine with “Omar” from director Hany Abu-Assad.
